Put the Blackout on TV

It's ironic just how much the term "blackout" applies to the Raiders. With 11 straight TV blackouts, the Raiders literally had lost a part of their mystique.

This is the Silver and "Black." The "Black" Hole might be the most well known area of any NFL stadium.

When you have "blackouts" you are just left with half of what used to be something great. Silver without the "black" cannot attack.

Then something amazing happened Thursday, the Raiders announced that the TV blackout had been lifted for this Sunday's game against the Chiefs,

I'll be there is section 111, row 20 with my dad and 63,000 other Raiders fans rain or shine.

The Raiders fans really rallied behind a two for one ticket offer, two big wins in a row and Rolando McClain's bold statement.

McClain proclaimed a media blackout until the Raiders sold out a home game. He didn't have to wait long. While he didn't likely have much impact on the tickets sold, he was able to get the media to print something about the Raiders sickly attendance and publicize an amazing ticket offer.

Two more things would make this game extra sweet, a win and showing the NFL what kind of fans are in Oakland by wearing black.

Blackout the coliseum. It isn't much to ask, as many fans wouldn't consider wearing any other color.

Leave your white, silver, gray jerseys, jackets, and ponchos at home on Sunday. Wear home black.

Call you local sports radio stations, post it on forums, and tell your friends.

Go Raiders!

The Raiders aren't who we thought they were....they're better

The Oakland Raiders are tired of being the team that will be good in a year or two. The team expects to win now and it is winning now. We thought the Raiders needed more talent. We thought that being in the playoff hunt was a year away for this team, but we were wrong. This isn't the team we thought they were, they're better. On Sunday, they moved to 3-3 on Sunday with a 37-29 win over the San Diego Chargers that wasn't close until the final minute. It was also the Raiders second road win of the season. The last time the Raiders had two road wins by their sixth game was 2011. Before that, a five-year streak from 1998-2002. The Raiders went 8-8 in 1998, 1999 and 2011 and narrowly missed the playoffs each year.  They made the playoffs in 2000, 2001 and 2002. They didn't have a losing record in any of those seasons because teams that can win on the road are usually pretty good. Oakland Raiders' Studs and Duds From Preseason Week 1
